Association for Development, and Cooperation for Innovation—Signing Ceremony of School-Enterprise Cooperation between China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. & School of Civil Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University

Zeng Ping, the Party Committee Secretary and chairman of China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. with his colleagues visited our school for exchanges and communication on May 11, 2021, with the school-enterprise cooperation signing ceremony successfully being held, in order to further understand the new needs of employers for talents, achieve the balance of the school teaching and market requirements, cultivate practice-oriented talents, explore new ways for education and achieve target education.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Zhang Jin, the undergraduate employment director and the host of the signing ceremony, introduced the guests and expressed a warm welcome. The participants from China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. were Zeng Ping, the the Party Committee Secretary and chairman, General manager Chen Qian of the Management Department, Deputy General Manager Huang Gang of the Commercial Management Department, Deputy General Manager Chen Xiaoqing of the Human Resources Department, and Manager Lian Liuqing of the Human Resources Department of the EPC. And participants from SWJTU were: Liu Xueyi, Party Committee Secretary of SCE of SWJTU, Zhou Xi, Party Committee Deputy Secretary of SCE, Liu Ping, Deputy Head of the academic work group and secretary of the Youth League Committee of the SCE, counselor Li Jianghuai, and Zhang Jin, the undergraduate employment director.

Later, all participants watched the promotional video to enhance the mutual understanding. In the video, we could see a new-era enterprise that has made fruitful achievements in the fields of housing construction, infrastructure, investment, design, environmental protection, and operation and so on. Also, we learned the SCE of SWJTU, one of the important birthplaces of modern civil engineering education in China, has taken the responsibility for cultivating a large number of talents for infrastructure construction in China. The host pointed out that in the process of development, both parties have contributed to China's economic development and Gross National Happiness, and the school-enterprise cooperation has broad and bright prospects in the future.

Next came the signing ceremony, in which Mr. Zeng Ping and Mr. Zhou Xi, on behalf of the enterprise and SWJTU respectively, signed a cooperation agreement. The opening ceremony of the Practice and Internship Base for Students was unveiled by Mr. Zeng Ping and Professor Liu Xueyi. Both ceremonies embody the four principles of “sincere cooperation, resource sharing, mutual benefit and common development” of this cooperation, and herald the broad prospects of association. In particular, we also invited Mr. Li Yongwang, Party Committee Deputy Secretary of and chairman of the labor union of China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chen Qian, as the “Career Supervisor” of Class 4 and Class 6 of grade 2020 in our school, to effectively guide the career development direction for students in SCE.

At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Liu Xueyi and Mr. Zeng Ping, both expressed their best wishes for this cooperation. After expressing his praise and admiration to the long history and education style of the SCE, Mr. Zeng Ping pointed out that this cooperation should be implemented thoroughly and completed effectively, so as to have complementary advantages and achieve a win-win situation. Mr. Liu Xueyi first introduced the basic situation of SWJTU and the SCE, especially the enrollment situation, and then emphasized the school’s determination to cultivate students well and maintain the tradition of strictness. Besides, he also expressed his thoughts and concerns about how to transform traditional disciplines and how to operate and manage in the future.

During the exchanges, the two sides deepened the understanding of each other and decided to cooperate in the areas of joint employment and collaborative education. During the ceremony, both sides stated that they will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation in the future, explore new mode of school-enterprise cooperation, and look forward to the great achievements, truly achieving the association for development, and cooperation for innovation. Finally, this ceremony came to an end successfully.
