Enhancing the Cooperation and Exchanges Between the Two Schools to Promote Students’ Learning and Achievements—A Symposium Between Western China School of Medicine, Sichuan University and School of Civil Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University
Luo Fengming, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of Western China School of Medicine (WCSM), Western China Hospital, Sichuan University, and his fellows came to the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) to attend the symposium at 9:30 on March 11. The symposium was held in the conference room X4407, with participants of WCSM including Luo Fengming, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of WCSM, Zhang Lie, director of Student Affairs Department, department heads Yang Fan, Jiang Tingting, Wang Han, Wu Yan, and the counselors Wang Jinsong, Tang Haitao, Wang Shaohan, Sun Xiaoming, Jia Xue, Sun Ning, Huo Guannan. The participants of SCE included Zhou Xi, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, counselor Liu Ping, Fu Zhenzhen, Huang Xuejiao, Tang Dan, Zhang Jin and Wang Qiyao.
At the symposium, both sides introduced their participants respectively. Deputy Secretary Lu Fengming briefly introduced the development overview, number of the students and counselor team of WCSM. Deputy Secretary Zhou Xi delivered a warm speech to welcome the delegation, as well as introduced in detail the counselor team construction of the SCE from three aspects of basic situation, work overview and overall plan. The SCE vigorously implemented a series of plans which are counselors’ professional improvement, incentive management, security and so on, aiming at improving the overall qualities and professional competence, to build a learning counselor team.
In the next session, counselor Liu Ping shared the overall situation, work content and progress of the pilot project of comprehensive reform of “Three-wide Education” in the SCE. And then counselor Fu Zhenzhen shared about the exploration and practice of developing positive learning environment for undergraduates from the aspects of goals, plans and features. Counselors Wang Qiyao and Tang Dan shared their views on students’ awards and psychological construction.
Then, the two schools had an in-depth discussion, in which the teachers, from different perspectives, based on their daily duties, shared their practical experience and insights in Party building, employment, graduate work, students’ mental health supervision and other aspects through the real and typical cases. At the end of this symposium, all the participants took a group photo.
The symposium promoted the communication and relationship between the two schools. The participants expressed that they have gained a lot, hoping that more cooperation and exchange activities will be conducted in the future, to build a friendship bridge between the two schools.
